7. The Banner Saga 3
The Banner Saga is an RPG series that most likely haven't experienced yet, and that's a real shame. From the minds of several Bioware alum, Banner Saga has proven to be a consistently-strong go-to for any RPG fan. Its ability to develop engaging stories with developed characters is where those ex-Bioware developers show off their talent. Along with the challenging turn-based combat filling out the game's action-focused moments, Banner has earned itself a small cult following that made it possible to keep the series going.
Each installment has been solid in their own right, but if the considerable improvement between the first installment and its sequel is anything to go by, TBS3 will look to improve on its predecessor's faults to offer fans a worthy conclusion to the series. Just to name a few things, Banner Saga 3 boasts improved combat, storytelling that hinders directly on decisions you made in previous games, and not one, but TWO caravans you've got to take care of.
Once again funded through Kickstarter and its clearly supportive fanbase, developer Stoic has a clear understanding of how important their fans are and the need to provide a satisfying experience to all supporters. RPG lovers, don't let this one pass you by.
