3. King Dedede

Game: Kirby's Adventure Despite being a penguin with a penchant for colourful clothing, King Dedede is one of the more famous Nintendo villains. In Kirby's Adventure, King Dedede steals the mystic star rod from the Fountain of Dreams, which means that no-one in Dream Land is able to dream. What a cruel, cruel penguin. Oh wait, he actually took the rod because he was aware of a dark nightmare that had worked its way into the Fountain of Dreams. In order to stop the nightmare from affecting Dream Land's inhabitants, King Dedede wisely smashes up the rod, giving the pieces to brave warriors to protect. Then along comes a big pink guy that eats people for their powers, who gathers together all the pieces and messes everything up for everyone. And this is the guy we're supposed to be rooting for? King Dedede might have been a bit of a douche in other games in the series, but Kirby's Adventure proves he isn't all bad.
