It's well known that Batman has a strict "no killing" methodology but at the end of Arkham City, his arch-nemesis The Joker lies dead regardless. Having been poisoned by the Titan drug he used in Arkham Asylum, The Joker's days were numbered from the very beginning of Rocksteady's sequel. Still, it's pretty shocking that the team actually decided to kill off The Joker. After all, he's the most iconic of Batman's foes and a genuine fan favourite - to eliminate him completely was a brave move for the future of the series. Of course, somebody as eccentric and crazed as The Joker wasn't going to go out without one last great moment though. As The Joker lies dying on the floor, Batman stands over and tells his foe that, despite all of his crimes, Batman still would have used the cure he possessed on him. Did The Joker beg for forgiveness or appreciate that bit of sentiment from Batman? Of course not. Instead, he bursts out into a pained fit of laughter, discarding Batman's regret with a final "That actually is... Pretty funny." Suitably, The Joker goes out laughing and this scene perfectly shows how Batman's empathy towards his rogue gallery is misunderstood by the villains he hunts. A fitting end to Arkham's favourite resident.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
