10 Fighting Game Bosses That Made You DESTROY Controllers
2. Shizuka (Samurai Shodown)
SNK games are still, even in their modern renaissance, bothering players with ridiculous final bosses. The one in Samurai Shodown's reboot takes your patience and slices them into ribbons with her telekinetic fans.
Shizuka is a possessed girl with ghostly powers. Hovering in mid-air, she'll take very little damage from any of your attacks. In return, she'll control her fans with her mind to swipe at you, fire as projectiles, and rain down like a volley of arrows. The worst of these attacks is the throw which can only be avoided by jumping.
All of these attacks hurt a lot, but something's off. It's almost as if she's holding back.
Things take a much more insane turn when she reveals her face in round two. She begins the round by firing a screen covering laser that you have to block.
From there, her attacks are relentless as she now has more fans, and she gains access to several super attacks. The most brutal of the lot is an aura that instantly wipes half your health, but also disarms you.
It also takes a lot longer to end the fight in the second round as she takes half damage. Perserverence is the key to winning here.
