10 Forgotten Horror Game Franchises That NEED A Reboot

With the recent release of Silent Hill f, coupled with the announcement of a remake of the classic Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly, it seems that J-Horror is all the rage in gaming right now. So it only makes sense that one of the best and most downright bizarre Japanese horror series should step back into the limelight.

For those unfamiliar, the Siren series was a short-lived franchise that left a big impression on those who played it. The series focuses on a group of Japanese villagers who find themselves embroiled in a nightmarish supernatural event where the dead come back to life and demons prowl the streets.

The unique gameplay feature of Siren was the 'Sight-Jacking' system, a latent psychic ability that all the survivors possess which allows them to see through the eyes of their pursuers. A very novel approach to stealth-horror gameplay that's worth its weight in gold for the heart-attack inducing moments of panic it can create when you suddenly realise your stalker is stood directly behind you.

The Siren series has remained dormant for several years now and the time feels right for it to return and take its rightful place amongst J-horror royalty.
