8. The Bunker (Uncharted: Drake's Fortune)
When you step into the shoes of the legendary treasure hunter Nathan Drake, you expect many things. Action? Hell yeah. Fun? For sure. Adventure? You'd better believe it.
Still, one thing you certainly don't expect to see is horror, as that doesn't quite fit the franchise's vibes. However, someone forgot to give the first game that memo, as one area is so damn terrifying and tonally jarring it'll give you whiplash.
The Bunker is a notorious level in the Uncharted series that morphs the game into a terrifying survival horror. In it, you explore an old Nazi facility, wandering through maze-like corridors in near-total darkness, all whilst attempting to survive the onslaught of a collection of unsettling former humans.
These "Descendants" were once humans who stole the treasure of El Dorado and have now become mutated. It's not the first time the game references these twisted creatures, but being trapped with them in such a claustrophobic area dials up just how terrifying they, and the location, are.
Treasure hunting isn't all fun and games it seems.
