10 Friendly Video Games With One TERRIFYING Area
7. Wraithmarsh (Fable II)
The Fable series is known for its incredibly juvenile humour and silly side quests. It's The Witcher meets Monty Python. Still, the franchise is more than willing to creep you out now and again, with some unsettling enemies and often twisted moments - looking at you Winter Lodge Demon Door.
However, all of that creepiness pales in comparison to the terror of Wraithmarsh.
This horrifying area from the second game is a horrendous swampy marsh surrounding Bloodstone. It's a cold and unforgiving place full of Banshees, Balverine, and Hollow Men, with its lack of sunlight, unsettling NPCs, disturbing music and more painting a terrifying picture.
Hell, this segment starts with you being captured by a creepy old man, locked in a cage, and threatened with being burned alive. That's not a great first impression.
Making all this worse is the knowledge that this horrifying area was once the peaceful town of Oakvale, where the hero from the first game hailed from. It used to be a lush haven of green fields. Now it's just Banshees, fog, and dread.
