10 Games That Will Inevitably Disappoint Us All In 2013

6. The Walking Dead

Walking-Dead-3-Cast1(1)

I should probably rank this game as a bigger disappointment but there are just so many games coming out I'd have to make the list a lot lot bigger. I can't really think of any games based on TV series which are good, in fact I just had a quick Google and the only games that stand out are the Star Trek and Wrestling games. We can rule out Wrestling as if you actually enjoy watching men oil themselves up and grapple with each other, I think you're going to enjoy controlling them doing it. I'd question your sanity of course, but I love wrestling about in the mud with 29 other chaps in a game called Rugby so best if I just accept that the "sport" has its fans. Star Trek fans are of course going to love the games the same as Star Wars fans shelling out money to play an on-line Star Wars gam-- oh that's right it's free now isn't it? Good on you Bioware, really pleasing the fans with your games lately. My point is, games based on TV shows don't work unless you Jimmy who's 3 years old and just needs to help Bob the builder get all the cows back in the field. Granted it's a zombie game but we've just got far too many of these. Resident Evil has pretty much conquered the zombie gaming world and Call of Duty has ensured that the masses of button smashing teenagers can satisfy their zombie killing needs without having to switch to another game. I'm re-watching the trailer for it now and wondering how on earth they expect money off this, I mean it is Activision of course so money isn't an issue but still...at least try. Trailers are supposed to lure people and get them interested not make them wonder the development team had a bit too much to drink at the office Christmas party. "Before the farm....before Atlanta....they were just brothers" is not something you expect for a game trailer, a terrible C-grade movie on a Sky channel that you only switch to because you want to explore what's out there? Yes, but not a video game trailer. "When the world goes to hell....how will you survive?" has someone ordered a side of cliché by chance? I really don't have words for this at all, the TV series may be good but if I want to kill zombies I'll either grit my teeth and play the new Resident Evil game or head on over the Left 4 Dead and listen to a 14 year old tell me that I'm a bumbling buffoon in a lot more colourful language.
