X-Men Origins: Wolverine was touted as a gamechanger before its release, since it would kick off a slew of spin-offs centred around singular characters in the X-Men universe.

However, this idea was scrapped, since this prequel sucked big time. With the cartoonish action, woeful CGI, cringe-inducing dialogue, and the by-the-numbers story, it was like the filmmakers were trying to ruin the Canadian superhero.

Fortunately, the video game adaptation, X-Men Origins: Wolverine - Uncaged Edition, did Logan justice. Unlike the neutered violence in the film, the gore is on full display here, allowing you to turn enemies into bloody fountains with the ol' canknucklehead's adamantium claws.

The game perfectly captures Wolverine's berserker rage, since his attacks becomes stronger as his anger increases. Rather than being a straightforward beat 'em up, Uncaged has moments where you use your heightened senses to detect traps and enemies, which is a nice way to add variety to the gameplay.

Now, let's not get ahead of ourselves - Uncaged is not without its flaws. The action can be repetitive and the story drags at times. But the game makes up for it overall, since it offers players the experience we were expecting from X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
