10 Great Video Games That Didn't Get Good Until Halfway Through
3. Star Wars: Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast
All due respect to the rest of the Star Wars universe, but when you jump into a Star Wars game, you usually just want to play as a jedi. In that respect, there are few games better than Jedi Outcast. The way this game handles force powers and lightsaber combat set a standard that few other have ever come close to matching - it's just a shame that it takes so long to reach that part of the game.
Most of Jedi Outcast's first half denies you the use of your jedi abilities, and instead plays like a fairly standard first-person shooter. As far as first person shooters go, it's not a bad one, but it is a bit of a bummer to deal with when you signed up for sweet lightsaber action.
If you ever do play this game, be sure to make a save at the halfway point so you can instantly return to the good stuff.
