10 Greatest Games Ever Released On XBOX 360

3. The Elder Scrolls V: SKYRIM

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was so good, people constantly tried to dig out truth in rumours, spent hours searching for its successor and asked an awful lot to gaming websites and shows. Or so I've heard about Oblivion being so good. Fresh off the video confirming the new game, I decided to try for the first time, Oblivion, and I didn't like it. I was 5 years too late for it I guess. And I wasn't in all honesty that bothered about Skyrim. Had no plans to pre-order or as a matter of fact, play it what so ever. But I heard a lot about it doing well and giving the player lot of freedom a month after its release, and when I saw it on 'Deal Of The Week" from Game, for only £19.99, I thought I'd pick it up. Boy was I in for a treat. I have never known a game world to be so interesting, so ambitious, so vast. Yes, I had come across greatly detailled and depicted environments in games, but there was nothing quite like Skyrim. It hit me why this game had such good reception and why it was so anticipated. It was stunning, visually stunning. The first minute I stepped out of the cave from escaping the imperial forces, and it took my breath away. The sheer size and ambition was incredible, to me at least. I have yet, a year later, to finish the main storyline: I just find so much to do in the game, and yes at times the caves get a bit same old, but I still enjoy them. The detail in the game is fantastic, if you slip on a pair of headphones, you can hear the winds of The Throat Of The World pass by, a Dragon roaring in the distance, or eavesdrop on weird and wonderful conversations. The characters a strange but interesting, and the whole fact you can do anything you want, go anywhere you please just makes the game so immersive it's unbelievable. Everything about Skyrim deserves to be on this list.
