10 Greatest Games Ever Released On XBOX 360

2. Grand Theft Auto IV

Every "Greatest Game" list needs one of these, a Grand Theft Auto game. But this being an Xbox 360 list, we only have one game to choose from right now, although that's soon to change, but thats for another time. Yes, Grand Theft Auto IV was the transition we all wanted as soon as the generation began. With Grand Theft Auto already being a well established franchise for shooting, running and flying cars, it was easy to say it would have probably the biggest impact any game would have until 2010. And it did. There aren't many Xbox owners who haven't played this game, whether on their own console, or a friends. GTA IV was impressive, its depiction of a living, thriving New York City (Under the name Liberty City), is one of the most greatly loved game worlds to date. No other game offered the ability to walk down the games rendition of Times Square, buy a hot dog to watch two homeless men fight, and then hijack a bus to the airport to a grab a machine gun firing helicopter, all before breakfast. The game was one of a kind, and still is at the moment. The characters were half loveable, half hateable, but we will always remember them. The multiplayer function used the city to great advantage. Roaming around the city with a group of friends, radio at full blast and performing drive by's on other players was deeply enjoyable, and if you go on today, many people still go on the game. The arrival of its successor next year in Spring will be welcomed with even more anticipation than this game, and everyone will flock to it. Even then though, everyone will probably pay the odd visit back to the city that never fails to surprise. And to a certain, lonely cousin. Grand Theft Auto IV is still alive, but if one game killed it, it had to be another Rockstar game. I think we all know what game that was, and why it is also on this list as one of the greats...
