Son of Kazuya and Grandson of Heihachi
The central antagonist of the Tekken series is Heihachi Mishima - a ruthless businessman who will sacrifice anything to attain ultimate power. Heihachi's malevolence is so potent, he corrupts everyone connected to him including his wife, Kazumi, his father, Jinpachi, and his son, Kazuya. His grandson, Jin, seemed destined to succumb to evil since, like his father, he possesses the Devil Gene - a genetic abnormality that causes the host to develop supernatural power.
Kazuya may have embraced the Devil Gene but Jin has managed to stop the dark energy from consuming his soul. Although Kazuya desires to take control of Heihachi's conglomerate, Jin intends to destroy it to rid the world of his family's influence.
Even though Jin can feel the Devil Gene urging him to commit evil, his astounding willpower has allowed him to keep his wicked tendencies at bay. He occasionally embraces the Devil Gene to transform into Devil Jin but only to defeat a foe that would otherwise be beyond him. Even though Heihachi met his end in the climax of Tekken 7, Jin is still committed to killing his dear old dad to end the Mishima bloodline once and for all.
