8. Thrill Kill
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_VbjA4BjGk Here's one game that I know would have been great first hand, because I've actually played a version of it. The unreleased ultra-violent beat 'em up Thrill Kill was originally developed for the PlayStation but eventually cancelled after EA bought the original publisher and, offended by the extreme violence, flat-out refused to release the game, as if we needed more evidence of EA's douchebaggery. Bootleg copies of the game have been available online for over a decade; a schoolmate of mine managed to get a hold of one, so I had the pleasure of being able to play it a few times. Though not complete, the game played well enough, featuring hilarious characters such as The Imp, Doctor Faustus and Bella-Donna, who would fill a "Kill Meter" the more pain you unleashed on your enemies, eventually allowing you to execute the titular Thrill Kill, a devastatingly brutal finishing move. It's all the more frustrating as the game was a lot of fun, and probably would have sold well amid all the controversy surrounding it. EA, in a scumbag move, instead shelved it and refused to let anyone else release it. Disgraceful.
