5. Starcraft: Ghost
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuT6eIWdAqE As we all know by now, Blizzard are the masters of the strategy/RPG genres, and pretty much everything they touch turns to gold. In 2002, they announced Starcraft: Ghost, a third-person shooter take on the classic franchise, was in development for not only the PC but home consoles, appearing to blend shooting with stealth gameplay. The game ended up being delayed countless times, having been shipped to various studios to work on, before production on it stopped in early 2006. Given that it's now over a decade since production began, I wouldn't count on it seeing the light of day. It's a damn shame because this one had so much potential; just as Blizzard expanded the Warcraft universe with World of Warcraft, this could have done the same for Starcraft. Blizzard refuse to list the game as cancelled, which provides a small sliver of hope it might be released one day, but don't count on it.
