If you've never heard of the absolute brilliance that is Desert Bus then I implore you to leave right now and look it up. No don't, please keep reading. I'll just tell you.

Desert Bus is one of a collection of games called Penn and Teller's Smoke and Mirrors, planned for release in 1995. In case you're wondering: yes the magicians... how many other Penn and Teller's do you know exactly?

Every game was intentionally designed to be, how should I put this...hot moist garbage so you can punish your friends for whatever transgressions they may have committed against you in the past. Of these, Desert Bus gained the largest cult following. Basically, you drive a bus. Forever. Literally. There's no end. It's boring as hell.

So obviously a bunch of people - LoadingReadyRun - decided to play it for charity. The team take it in turns to play for hours at a time and each time a donation is made hours are added to the playtime.

The initial run raised over $20,000, some donations from Penn and Teller themselves, who also made guest call-in appearances and sent in pizza for the crew. And thus began a weird and beautiful yearly show of dorky generosity.
