9. Pay Your Fine Or Prepare For The Worst - Guardians Of The Galaxy

Early on in Square-Enix's Guardians Of The Galaxy, an original take on the popular Marvel property, you'll be confronted by the Nova Corps space cops and busted carrying contraband.

Depending on an earlier choice, this will either be illegal weapon tech or a space llama (because this IS Guardians Of The Galaxy, after all). Regardless of what you chose, the Guardians are fined several thousand credits.

Anyone familiar with the Guardians knows that one of the main conceits is that they're a ragtag crew of mercenaries always treading water financially. Soon the main plot kicks in and you're on your quest to save the galaxy - and altruism doesn't pay.

So while paying a ticket may not seem like a moral quandary, it becomes one when you realize you have very little money and have no idea what, if anything, you may need it for later.

Paying your fine is the "right" thing to do, ingratiating you to the Nova Corps, whose help you'll likely need. But what if something far more important comes up later and you're broke because you chose to be a good samaritan, a trivial gesture when a cult is rapidly hypnotizing entire planets into joining them.
