Ghost Of Tsushima, developer Sucker Punch's samurai epic about the Mongol invasion of the small Japanese island, isn't a game packed with moral choices. But it hits you with a whopper at the end.

Having lost his father as a boy, protagonist Jin was raised mostly by his uncle, Shimura. Shimura taught Jin everything he knows about the way of the samurai, with an emphasis on how to conduct himself honorably as a warrior and show respect to his enemies.

Faced with overwhelming odds, Jin adopts the underhanded tactics of the ninja in his battle against the invaders. This puts him at odds with Shimura, who insists dying honorably would be preferable to what he deems terrorism. By the end, the two arrive at an irreconcilable divide resulting in a duel.

Upon winning, do you kill or spare your surrogate father? Shimura requests a warrior's death. It would allow him to keep his honor and die believing Jin still possessed some of the values his uncle instilled.

However, this man raised you to be the samurai ideal you once were. He's the reason you're here and were able to fight the invaders at all. If spared, he'll live in shame and disown you, but he'll live nonetheless.
