The Halo games have a wide range of powerful, futuristic weapons that shoot lasers and bolts of plasma, yet the weapon that makes you feel the most powerful is your own pair of bare hands.

That's right, the Double Melee technique introduced in Halo 2 allows you to turn your punches into a flurry of incredibly fast and deadly blows.

To perform the technique, you need to use a melee attack, then immediately reload your weapon and attack again. By doing this, you trick the game into letting you use your melee attacks instantly, which, in turn, allows you to run up to your enemies and kill them in a few seconds.

"Double Melee" has been integrated into a bunch of other useful combos too, such as the BXR combo (pushing B+X+R), which breaks the enemy's shield with a quick melee attack, and then lets you shoot them instantly while their shield is still down.

Regardless, the idea of punching your opponent to death in record time is so much fun, Halo Infinite saw it return, letting you grapple hook to an enemy and attack immediately for a snappier animation.
