10 Highest-Rated Video Games Of The Decade - Ranked Worst To Best
6. Grand Theft Auto V
Metacritic: 97
Another Rockstar diamond from this decade (and we're not done yet) the blood soaked city of Los Santos remains one of gaming’s most definitive settings. Though the game offered three protagonists, it was the completely off the rails Trevor who stole every single scene he was in, and deserves most of the credit for GTA V’s 9th place ranking on the all time Metacritic list.
Grand Theft Auto V offered a huge, sprawling world crammed with different side quests. Similar to Breath Of The Wild, you’re given free reign quite early, although the story is there to guide you. If carnage is the name of the game though, as usual, GTA has you covered.
It’s impossible to talk about GTA without bringing in the online mode, which has proven to be a double edged sword. On one hand, it added bags of replay value, offered massive creativity and received reliable updates.
On the other, Shark Cards led to some price gouging and the runaway success (read: profit) of the game mode appears to have turned Rockstar’s heads a little too much. The PS4/Xbox One era came and went without a new GTA, which would have been unthinkable back in 2013.
