10 Horror Franchises That Should Be Turned Into Video Games

7. It Follows

Perhaps the least renowned entry on this list, It Follows is a supernatural horror film released last year, written and directed by David Robert Mitchell, and staring Maika Monroe. The film follows the protagonist as she attempts to flee a seemingly unstoppable force, a mysterious creature that can assume any form, and is contracted through sexual intercourse.

In the film, it follows its victims, stalking them slowly wherever they should go, and is only visible to those who have incurred its attention. The only way to escape the thing is to have sex with someone else, shifting the creature to them like a curse, or a disease. However, this is only a temporary solution, as once the victim is killed, the creature will return to its initial target, seemingly working its way backwards.

The Game: You contract the creature at the beginning of the game, and have to find a way to survive, moving from place to place, fulfilling objectives and trying to avoid a singular, unrelenting nemesis that can follow you wherever you go.

It wouldn't necessarily be puzzle orientated, but always considering your exits and planning your movement would be paramount to survival. Rooms with only one entrance would be a particular problem, because if you happen to find yourself cornered, there’ll be nowhere to run.

If it worked for Slenderman, it can work for It Follows.
