10 Horror Villains That Don't Stop Chasing You
6. Metroid Fusion - SA-X
If you were to compile a list of creepy games, you wouldn't expect a Metroid game to be up there.
Oh sure, there are some panicky moments, like escaping exploding bases and some of the boss fights, but nothing fear-inducing.
Well, thanks to Metroid Fusion, you can now add "creepy cloned Samus stalker" to that list.
Samus' continued run of bad luck at the start of her adventures continues in Fusion, with the discarded X parasites forming a clone from the cells they've mimicked from the bounty hunter.
Cloning is one thing, albeit creepy. But a clone of Samus at full power? That's nightmare fuel.
As such, the SA-X will turn up at random times to chase our heroine, adding a massive dose of panic to an otherwise calm situation. Surely nothing could make this worse?
Well, how about SA-X asexually reproducing into more clones of itself? Yeah, it happens, and it is not fun.
It adds a new gameplay element to the Metroid games, something never before seen in the series. It made it more fraught with terror, but also satisfying when you outran the expressionless hunter.
