10 Hotly-Anticipated Video Games That Will Disappoint You In 2016
10. Tom Clancy's The Division
What will go wrong: Microtransactions. Ubisoft have skirted around the inclusion of microtransactions in The Division like a Destiny player testing out their new dance emotes. We're yet to get a clear answer on whether they're going to be included or not, but regardless, the general rollout of the game's PR has been marred with repeated delays and most recently, downgraded graphics. Chances are, the actual advent of shooting dudes in the face will satisfying enough, but the surrounding game is set up as a hodgepodge of 'story' masquerading as resource-management, becoming the perfect canvas to inject all sorts of "Pay $2 to unlock this gun now" or "Speed up the development of X for $5" notifications. Ubi's comments on this stated they definitely wouldn't be around at launch, but they'd be looking to provide supplementary DLC at a later date. Also don't forget, Metal Gear Solid V had all sorts of base-buying microtransactions patched in post-release, so it's not like the retail version of anything gives a lasting idea of a product's evolution over time.
