If Crash was lucky enough to be brought back from the brink of irrelevancy thanks to a bundle containing remakes of Naughty Dog's original PS1 trilogy, then surely his Skylanders buddy Spyro deserves the same respect?

While not as popular a mascot as Crash, Spyro would undoubtedly hit the same nostalgic nerve that Sony's signature character did earlier this year, and if given the same Pixar-esque graphical update that the N. Sane Trilogy or last year's Ratchet and Clank enjoyed then the series might finally be viewed alongside those other video game titans.

Plus at the very least the original trilogy remains solid from a gameplay perspective and simple enough to still feel fresh and accessible all these years later - unlike Spyro's rage-inducing Bandicoot brethren.

Insomniac's original trilogy learned from the mistakes of other 3D platformers, and with a remake players would be able to see just how influential the series always was.
