10 Immensely Satisfying Video Game Moments

4. Catching Mewtwo - Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow

Cerulean Cave; home of some seriously testing wild Pokémon and mankind's very own creation: Mewtwo. The psychic psychopath was yours for the taking, if you still had your Master Ball, of course.

If you'd been fortunate enough to encounter a shiny Pokémon during your travels, you had no choice but to sling your Master Ball in its direction for the lifelong bragging rights. Even a shiny Weedle was enough to rule the playground, back in the day.

The ultimate Poké-satisfaction came when you were faced with a level 70 Mewtwo, knowing you couldn't knock it out, and no Master Ball to guarantee it would be the lynchpin of your Elite Four second run.

A crafty save before battle commenced and a team full of Pokémon capable of freezing, paralysing and putting the beast to sleep was essential without the assurance of the Master Ball - a bag full of Ultra Balls didn't go amiss either.

Three rocks of the ball and CLICK - you're officially a Pokémon Master.
