8. Tali Vs Legion - Mass Effect 2
Mass Effect's Quarians are a race of humanoid aliens who, thanks to their skills with technology, created the Geth as a means of acquiring some free labour. Sadly they were eventually driven into a nomadic existence after their creations gained sentience and won their freedom after a bloody conflict.
It doesn't take a genius to work out that relations between the Quarians and the Geth are frosty, to say the least, however there's a chance players missed out on a particular cutscene that really showcases just how deep this hatred runs.
Tali, a Quarian, and Legion, a Geth, are perhaps the two most important characters in the entire game, and keeping them both loyal is one of the toughest balancing acts the franchise has ever thrown up.
Should players take Legion with them on Tali's loyalty mission, they will be treated to a slightly tweaked cutscene where Tali open fire on Legion, presenting players with a couple of bonus dialogue options around how they are working with the Geth.
There are naturally ways of still keeping Legion or Tali content after this, but it reinforces the hostility and distrust shared by the two races present in the game.
