10 Improvements The New Gears Of War Needs To Have
6. Develop The Bulletstorm Experience System
Arguably the highlight of Gears 3, the moulding together of Epic's system from Bulletstorm with Gears' gameplay developed some new and exciting methods of causing some carnage. Basically this works thusly: you kill in creative ways, you get points, encouraging gamers to develop and mix up their styles. While this does sound arcadey (and is), in the new, grisly and depressing worlds of Gears next-gen, this could still easily have its place. Why not incorporate this into a weapon/ability progression system where the Gears can trade with outposts in Stranded territory based on the equipment etc they salvage from enemies? It's slightly RPGfied for the Gears universe yes, but aren't all games jumping on this bandwagon now anyway? It's the next logical progression, and if done right, could easily be extremely effective and immerse the gamer more in the world by forcing them to buy bullets and tinker with their weapons in realistic ways without going over-the-top.
