10 INCREDIBLE PS2 Games You Still Need To Play

6. Clock Tower 3

Capcom/Sunsoft

Forever existing on the outskirts of the mainstream, Clock Tower has been flying the flag for survival horror since the days of the Super Nintendo. Being the first series of games to utilise the eternally stressful ‘run and hide’ style of gameplay, most entries in the series are legendary amongst survival horror fans.

For the franchise's third outing, Capcom took over the reins and drastically changed up the formula. Gone was the point-and-click interface of old and in its place was traditional 3D movement and a greater emphasis on the chase scenes.

Taking on the role of doughy-eyed school girl Alyssa, you must travel through different time periods and face off against a whole host of cold-blooded serial killers (or Subordinates as they’re known) whose methods range from slicing people up with giants scissors to drowning them in vats of acid.

Alyssa isn’t exactly a warrior princess either so you’ll need to rely on your wits to see you through. Your only lines of defence are strategically placed hiding spots and a refillable bottle of holy water that transforms into a celestial bow and arrow for boss fights.

Yeah, it's a strange one.
