Ah, Black Myth: Wukong. What was once seen as an ambitious title from an obscure Chinese studio has turned into one of the most anticipated action RPGs in recent years.

Inspired by Journey to the West, Wukong follows a simian warrior called The Destined One who must face trials and terrifying monsters inspired by Chinese folklore.

Although Journey to the West is among the most significant stories in literature, it's difficult to adapt, especially in the Western world. That's why it's phenomenal how Game Science made the story so digestible without compressing the source material. (Who would've thought gamers would relate to a monkey warrior flying around on a magical cloud?)

Of course, none of this would matter if the gameplay wasn't up to standard. Fortunately, Wukong excels in every department. Due to the smooth and accessible combat, enthralling boss battles, and the myriad of skills to master, there's no doubt the developers poured their heart and soul into this project. The attention to detail in every creature and character design is so exquisite, there are times where you just want to stop and take it all in.

Though there was plenty of skepticism surrounding Black Myth: Wukong, fans are desperate to know what Game Science cooking up next.
