10 INCREDIBLE Video Games You Can Finish In Under 5 Hours

5. The Stanley Parable

The second game on this list to be linked to Valve’s Half-Life, The Stanley Parable began its humble life as a mod for Half-Life 2, before the first-person interactive walking sim was made into its own fully fledged short story. Exploring the idea of what it means to have free will, the game centres around player character Stanley, who obediently follows along with everything the game’s narrator describes.

Until, that is, you decide not to.

Full of hilariously dry humour and an incredible performance from Kevan Brighting as your very persuasive narrator, The Stanley Parable is a great little injection of humour, laced with a surprisingly serious message. It literally challenges what it means to be a story-driven game, and pushes the boundaries of what tradition states a game must be.

Featuring multiple different possible endings, ranging from disappointed confusion to massive Ioss of life, how would your story play out, if you knew that you didn’t have to follow the rules?
