10 Infamous Glitches That Break Classic Games

7. B+X+R Glitch (Halo 2)

Making its second appearance on this list is Bungie€™s classic multiplayer FPS, Halo 2, a game which was positively riddled with glitches and exploits back in its heyday, so much so that it€™s a wonder the multiplayer portion of the game was as popular as it was. The B+X+R glitch was a button combination that allowed players to melee and fire their weapons almost instantaneously, neutralising shields and directly targeting opposing players€™ health in one fell swoop. The glitch was a particular frustration online, essentially allowing players to perform an instant kill with minimal effort or dexterity. To perform the glitch, you€™d press B to melee; then X+RT to cancel the melee animation and open fire on your unsuspecting opponent. The glitch only worked with a full magazine because otherwise your character would attempt to reload his weapon, but by pressing B+Y+Y+R instead of B+X+R you could sidestep this issue entirely and swap weapons. It sucked. It was a terrible, terrible thing that ruined Halo 2's multiplayer. Let's hope this terrible glitch never returns.
