10 Insanely Cool Ways Video Games Were Revealed

7. Hidden Blueprints - Batman: Arkham City

Not many developers can pull off the feat of hiding an in-game Easter egg so well that nobody can find it. Rocksteady belongs to that exclusive club, and, comically, even found itself forced to more or less tell players of its first entry in the Arkham trilogy how to find said secret.

To be fair, short of exhausting Batman's supply of explosive gel on every unassuming wall, the odds of finding Warden Quincy Sharp's hidey-hole organically would be nil.

A crying shame, considering the prize on the other side would be direct confirmation of further video game adventures for the Caped Crusader. To get inside, three doses of Bats' gel needed to be sprayed on the left side wall of Sharp's primary office. Assuming they were placed correctly, the ensuing explosion would yield access to a secondary room containing all sorts of teaser material, chiefly a set of blueprints for 'Arkham City'.

Other goodies included hints for several characters planned to debut in City and a tunnel explaining Sharp's escape and connection to Hugo Strange. All of this would have been mind-blowing.

Sadly, we as gamers collectively failed; Rocksteady would formally announce Arkham City just a month before revealing the room's existence.
