10 Most Intriguing Indie Gaming Releases Yet To Come In 2014
5. Stranded Deep
If you have a fear of sharks, then Stranded Deep might not be for you. The initial trailer has you stuck in an inflatable dingy, having survived a plane crash. You are stuck in the middle of the Pacific Ocean with very little to help you survive, and some sharks have just decided youd make a lovely dinner. Not exactly a position youd want to find yourself in. Survival games are all the rage at the moment, and there are a plethora being released in the next twelve months. Stranded Deep is not just a standard survival game though it's attempting to bring some other interesting concepts to the table as well. The game will be created procedurally, rather than with designed levels. For those who are not aware of procedural games this means the environment is randomly created, a lot like those in Minecraft. Thus no two games of Stranded Deep will be exactly the same. This game isn't just above the water. The developers claim that the sea floor will be fully explorable and that a large section of the game takes place beneath the waves. Speaking of waves the developers have been creating some dynamic water effects, with procedures being created for buoyancy, water movement and even foam. Stranded Deep might have the most advanced foam system in gaming, and that cannot be ignored.
