I shouldn't have to say much more than this, but Krabby's Japanese name is literally just "Crab". No funky spellings - just "Crab".

Looking at Krabby, it's easy to see why Japanese developers didn't see much of a need to come up with a creative name for it because... well, it's just a crab. Nothing more, nothing less.

Of all the "it's just a [blank]" Pokémon out there, Krabby is absolutely the least original. It's basically the end result of asking a college animation student to draw a crab. It's so uncreative that it leaves this author struggling to think of many things to say about it. I mean, what does one say about a cartoon crab?

Sure, Kingler is also a cartoon crab, but at least it has that "one giant claw" gimmick going on. Krabby is just a crab. A red and tan crab. That's all.
