10 Least Threatening Video Game Protagonists
1. Abe (Abe's Oddysee)
One of the most loveable and kindhearted characters of all time, Abe definitely doesn't stand out for his muscles or combat skills. A member of Oddworld's Mudokon race, Abe starts off the story as a slave for the villainous Glukkons, having had his mouth sewn shut many years earlier.
With his skinny frame, single tuft of hair, and big bulbous eyes, Abe certainly is funny-looking, but not exactly threatening in his appearance. Still, over the course of the first game and subsequent Oddworld releases, he learns to make use of traps and grenades, along with his innate mind control abilities, to defeat the enemies who cross his path.
He quickly became one of the mascots of the first PlayStation and was actually named after Abraham from the Bible. With a strong sense of morality but low intelligence levels, Abe stands out from other video game heroes, and part of the fun of playing Abe's Oddysee came from successfully guiding this meek, feeble creature through a series of increasingly dangerous environments.
