10 Locations Ubisoft Should Take Far Cry After Primal

6. Ancient Egypt

Ancient Egypt is a fantastic potential setting for a future Far Cry game, as the era itself is oddly under-used in video games.

As with a game set in Rome's ancient times, Far Cry's Egypt-set adventure is best based around the concept of slavery, with players helping fellow prisoners to break free and rise up against your oppressors.

The sun-blasted environment itself affects gameplay, with blistering sunlight forcing players to seek shelter regularly, and the constant heat also sends health into decline and blurs vision. Finding food and water is also important, forcing players to ensure they always have supplies.

Imagine scaling the under-construction Great Pyramid, armed with a spear, looking out at the sandy plains stretching on for miles. The Valley of the Kings, the Sphinx, and boats sailing the Nile could all feature.

The Egyptian setting demands chariots appear, in battle sequences or perhaps even in races. As with Far Cry 4 and its Shangri-La missions, bizarre hallucinatory sections can immerse players in a 2D world resembling the flat art of the time. The result might be somewhat akin to South Park, without the vulgarity or humour.
