10 Locations Ubisoft Should Take Far Cry After Primal
5. Medieval England
Without doubt, one of the most exciting possibilities for a future Far Cry game is setting it in a mud-soaked medieval England.
The game would work best if it took the legend of Robin Hood as its influence, casting players as an outlaw hiding in the forest surrounding a major settlement. This offers huge potential, perhaps opening with a daring escape from a prison before setting the player up to slowly climb the outlaw-ladder until they stand as a legend in their own right.
Hunting and foraging for food, creating custom weapons, crafting tools and clothing, and learning the ways of the forest offer amazing gameplay features. Knives, swords, bows, and rocks all work beautifully as weapons, and as with Robin Hood, players should build their own army of Merry Men, perhaps recruiting other escaped prisoners or enemies of the state.
Climbing trees, hiding in caves, and stalking enemies through dense patches of forest all make for terrific fun, transferring the familiar feel of previous Far Cry experiences to a vastly different period.
Robbing from fallen enemies, picking pockets, and sneaking into wealthy households to retrieve goods for the poor make fun side-quests, again borrowing from the Robin Hood legend.
