10 Mandatory Video Games Every Xbox One Owner Needs
9. Minecraft: Xbox One Edition
Mojang's success story is well told by now but it's still an impressive tale - it's not very often that an indie game takes over the whole freaking world, after all. Minecraft is available on just about every gaming device in the known universe nowadays (it'll probably be compatible with microwaves soon) so an Xbox One version was always on the cards - what separates it from the Xbox 360 Edition though? The technical improvements might not be noticeable if you've spent a significant amount of time on the PC Version but for us mere console dwellers, the increased map size and draw distance is mightily impressive. The game runs and loads far smoother too - falling through the floor while waiting for the world to load is no longer an issue. Of course, technical improvements aside, the main reason to download Minecraft on your Xbox One is for the immense replay value the game has. Minecraft has a strange ability to suck days of your life away at a time and it's a game that people will return to time after time for years to come - why not have it on your next-gen console, always ready for some quick binge play? Plus, Microsoft's recent acquisition of Mojang will hopefully lead to some exciting Xbox exclusive features - best get on board now.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
