Star Trek has recently been revived in the wide public consciousness with the releases of Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard and Star Trek: Lower Decks. With a devoted fan base strong enough to rival that of Star Wars and an expansive back catalogue of media spanning over seven decades, Star Trek seems ripe for the LEGO treatment.

The more recent LEGO titles have featured wide expansive hub worlds, whether it be one massive area like in LEGO The Incredibles or multiple large areas like in LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens. With the expansiveness of Star Trek’s media, they would have no shortage of areas to adapt, namely the different main ships of the five classic series, as well as that of Discovery.

In the same vein, fan favourite stories from each different series could provide the basis for the core levels of the game. Episodes like ‘The Best of Both Worlds’ from Star Trek: The Next Generation, ‘The Siege of AR-558’ from Star Trek: Deep Space 9, ‘Equinox’ from Star Trek: Voyager and ‘Storm Front’ from Star Trek: Enterprise are just a few examples of amazing action packed stories that could be adapted into levels.

As well as episodes, the thirteen Star Trek films could also provide levels for the games, with beloved films such as Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and Star Trek: First Contact being some of the best choices. LEGO games appeal to a wide variety of audiences and Star Trek has been captivating audiences for generations leaving the bridge between Star Trek and LEGO waiting to be crossed.
