10 Mega-Hyped 2014 Video Games That Will Definitely Disappoint

4. The Division

I will not deny that the premise of The Division sounds awesome, because quite frankly I think it€™s something gamers have always dreamed of but something that developers didn€™t have the technology to pull off. I€™m not opposed to open world online RPG gameplay so in that regard The Division is an intriguing package. And thus so, it€™s positioning on this list might seem controversial but if I€™m being honest, I don€™t see a fun game yet. I see a fascinating tech demo with remarkably detailed environmental destruction and impressive weather effects but that€™s it. Ubisoft isn€™t really showing off what separates their RPG mechanics from something like Borderlands either, and instead insists on showing off formulaic Tom Clancy game 3rd Person Shooter mechanics. Even at the 2013 VGA€™s their big demonstration was a glorified graphics trailer that essentially said €œLook at how pretty our game is€. I think there could be good game inside The Division, but Ubisoft is highlighting all the wrong things and not fully getting across how much potential there is, and in turn I€™m currently indifferent towards the game and don€™t understand the hype.
