10 Mega-Hyped 2014 Video Games That Will Definitely Disappoint

5. Thief

Reboots have proven themselves to be somewhat of a coin flip. For every game like Tomb Raider that successfully reinvents the franchise and lead character yet in tune to expectations of the source material, there is a Bionic Commando that comes across as a sloppy and unstable mix of classic gadgets and new ideas crammed into some clunky game design in an attempt at modernising things. On its own Thief looks like a fairly decent game but it€™s actually much less rooted in stealth than its predecessors, which assuredly isn€™t going to sit right with Thief fans. It€™s tough to call yet whether Thief is just trying to capitalise on modern gaming trends or if the studio €“ who has proven themselves with the outstanding Deus Ex: Human Revolution- has legitimate ideas in modernising the franchise without sacrificing too much. The bottom line though is that stealth is less necessary and the game is heavily story driven, and neither of those things has been previously associated with Thief.
