10 More Great Video Games That Never Got Sequels

2. Cannon Fodder

Poor Cannon Fodder. What was once a beloved and well respected series has now fallen by the wayside due to the licensing arrangements and terrible sequels from third party companies.

The first game was a brilliant parody of war, that whilst cute and cartoony, the weight and consequence of your actions would weigh on you each time you started a new level by showing you the men you've lost along the way.

The second game went a bit Turtles in Time, in an attempt to spice things up, to mixed reviews. A true sequel was planned for the now-defunct PlayStation Portable, before a Russian publisher took the rights and made the truly awful Cannon Fodder 3 in 2012. So bad, in fact, that dialogue translation was reportedly "worse than Zero Wing". Ouch.

Honestly, I would hope that wouldn't destroy the lineage that 'Fodder created, and maybe one day we'll get a true sequel. But it seems that whilst war has never been so much fun, the same couldn't be said for the legacy of the series.
