10 MORE Video Games That Started At The End

Heavenly Sword
Ninja Theory

Don't feel too bad if you scarcely remember this mostly-forgotten PS3 action-adventure game from Ninja Theory, which came and went without making much of a dent in 2007 despite actually being pretty good - just not the titanic AAA smash hit Sony was banking on.

The game kicks off in the middle of its final battle sequence as protagonist Nariko fights the army of the evil King Bohan (played with hammy glee by the great Andy Serkis).

After letting players wreck Bohan's meager forces for a hot minute, a cutscene interrupts the fun as Nariko's life is drained by her sword, seemingly killing her.

The rest of the game recounts the five days leading up to Nariko's "death," yet the second time the scene plays out Nariko makes a pact with the sword, allowing her to be resurrected and stage a final successful stand against Bohan.
