Pokémon GO didn’t have the smoothest launch when it started rolling out in July 2016. It was plagued by glitches, bugs and complaints about the broken Pokémon tracking system, which was a huge shame.

Nonetheless, Niantic have gradually been adding more and more features to the app, with the likes of battles and trades between players finally being possible. The issue is, though, there are still monumental barriers facing players committed to catching ‘em all.

Why You’ll Never 100% It:

With the pace at which we’re seeing new generations added to the app, a full Pokédex is unlikely to be even remotely possible until around the year 4012. Even some Pokémon that are technically available right now are out of bounds to the vast majority of players, such as region exclusives and Legendary Pokémon locked behind super powerful raid battles.

There’s an incredible amount of RNG involved in theoretically 100%-ing Pokémon GO besides all of that, too. Imagine trying for a shiny variant of every Pokémon, for instance, and/or all of the many alternative forms! However you define achieving 100% in the game, it’s just not happening.
