10 Most Bizarre Multiplayer Maps In Video Games
1. Duke Burger – Duke Nukem Forever
While the single player campaign for Duke Nukem Forever was very
inconsistent, there was some fun to be had with the game. Regardless,
considering the troubled development scheme, it's no surprise that it
disappointed so many people. Unsurprisingly, the shoddy console ports
only taint the game further.
At least the multiplayer mode was actually pretty damn fun, if in need of a bit of balancing and polish in areas. Spamming explosives and flying around on the jetpack can ruin a match, though the armoury available can help splatter these dopey players with bit of skill and luck.
The most unique map of the bunch is actually set in a Duke Burger restaurant, one of the many restaurant chains with Duke's face slapped onto them. Much to The King's horror, it serves dog meat and other garbage in the food.
To make things interesting, everyone has been shrunken down. Now dish washers and microwaves can be shot at to trap unsuspecting fighters, while burning hobs and grills will lure the careless with extra ammo and weapons floating about them.
Sprinting around the shelves, bobbing through the condiment jars, and bouncing into the ventilation shaft above does make for some intense chases.
It's a unique twist to your standard deathmatch, forcing you to use common brooms as bridges and tins of baked beans as cover from rockets.
And all of it takes place in a cheap fast food joint.
