7. ZombiU

The ZombiU trailer looked great and got me excited for the WiiU; it seemed as though the Wii had finally fixed its graphics problem and looked as though it would get a good action-type exclusive. I couldn't wait to use the gamepad and to get my hands on the game. But while it looked great on paper, it was executed terribly: the gamepad connectivity was boring at best and the game became so repetitive that even the Zombies were tired of being killed... again. ZombiU is simply a terrible FPS/slasher, taking ideas from other zombie games and trying to combine them; tried and failed. It resembled an unpolished Dead Island, and wasn't too appealing in the visual department. Even putting all that aside and there is still more to talk about: every time you die in the game, your character actually dies -there is no respawning - instead of starting the level over as you person, you will start back at base as a new recruit, which sounds fine considering you don't really customize your character and the game is in first person, but at the end of it all it gets annoying. You make a few choices as a character, but once you die and become a new person entirely, those choices will effect you and how other people see you, and you'll get dialogue directed at what you did in a past life, which feels plainly wrong. In short, it was a bad game and shouldn't have been such a big part of the WiiU's starting line-up. If you enjoy hitting countless zombies with a cricket bat for hours on end, then you might like this game, but if you're like most gamers and find it boring, then chances are you will agree with me about ZombiU.
