10 Most Disappointing Games Of The Decade (So Far)

3. Halo Infinite

Marvel's Avengers
Xbox Game Studios

Halo Infinite was unquestionably one of the most anticipated video games of the past decade, marking 343 Industries' attempt to shift the beloved FPS franchise into enticing open world territory.

The end result certainly wasn't awful, but it also wasn't particularly interesting or exciting.

Sure, Halo's signature tight gunplay returns - and the grappling hook was a neat addition - but from the dull environments to the repetitive gameplay and lack of compelling set-pieces, this felt like a pale, padded shadow of what a Halo campaign should be.

The initial allure of an open world Halo quickly wore off because the world isn't populated with much worth exploring.

And while the multiplayer was certainly enjoyable to a point, it simply didn't do enough to keep players en masse coming back - it was a fun, fleeting diversion, but lacked the compulsive pull of the series' earlier multiplayer suites.
