10 Most Disturbing Dark Souls Bosses
1. Pinwheel
Found at the end of The Catacombs, blocking the entrance to the Tomb Of Giants in Dark Souls, Pinwheel has gathered a reputation for being one of the easiest bosses in the entire franchise.
During the fight, the intention is for Pinwheel to spawn clones of himself that are supposed to overwhelm the player. However, if you've upgraded your weapon enough - which you should have by the time you even try attempting this area - you can deplete their health before they have the chance to duplicate.
But what Pinwheel lacks in difficulty, they more than make up for in creepiness. A six-armed being wearing three masks, depicting a father, mother, and child respectively, the common understanding is that Pinwheel is a necromancer composed of three entities merged together into one form. The boss's Japanese name translates roughly to "three people in one coat", which supports this theory.
According to popular Dark Souls lore YouTube user VaatiVidya, Pinwheel came about when a father attempted to resurrect the bodies of his deceased wife and child after stealing power from Gravelord Nito. Residing in a crypt, this theory continues, Pinwheel dedicates his time to finding a way to separate his family.
