10 Most Evil RPG Characters Of All Time
5. Lucien Fairfax (Fable II)
The Fable franchise is known for skirting the line between comedy and trauma finely. Hell, you'll need a neck cushion for all the tonal whiplash it'll give you, and the second game's antagonist embodies its darker side to the nth degree.
Fable II's Lucien Fairfax gets the hatred ball rolling quickly by murdering your sister in the opening hour. From there, he constantly ups the ante, killing innocents, sewing chaos, and enslaving countless people to build a magical monolith that will destroy the world. Yeah, that's not a great look.
Now, Lord Lucien's original motives for his evil-doings are sympathetic, as he just wants to bring his deceased family back to life. However, the deeper into the rabbit hole he goes, the worse it gets. He slowly becomes obsessed with becoming a god and starting the world anew, inflicting mass suffering and misery across Albion in the process. Oh, and he kills your dog too.
One of Fable II's biggest disappointments is that you couldn't make this monster suffer more when you killed him.
