10 Most Highly Anticipated Pokémon TCG Releases For 2021

2. Shining Fates

Shining Fates is the follow up to 2019s Hidden Fates and looks to be the contender for biggest set of the year. Similar to Hidden Fates we see the return of 'shiny' Pokémon distributed randomly in packs and alongside the regular V and VMAX Pokémon it means on average you'll be getting more bang for your buck per booster pack.

Shining Fates also acts as a reprint set reprinting some of the most competitively viable Pokémon from the last years worth of Sword and Shield sets but this time in their full art 'shiny' form.

The 'Fates' set do a number of things Pokéfans have come to expect and Shining Fates is no exception
1) Contain a stupidly rare and expensive Charizard card - check - Shining Fates finally see's the printing of the rainbow rare shiny VMAX Charizard, a card likely to cost in the region of £350 upon release.

2) An exclusive Elite Trainer Box with 10 packs and an exclusive card you can't find anywhere else - check - with Shining Fates we get the debut of Eevee Vmax. The retail on the Elite Trainer Boxes are £52.50 but they quickly sell out and find their way on eBay for well over £100

3) Multiple choice products - check - Shining Fates packs can be found in Elite Trainer Boxes, Pin Collections, Mini/Mega-Tins and even 'premium' boxes. In-fact the one thing you cant do with Shining Fates is simply walk into a shop and buy a single pack - they're not sold individually (another trait of the 'Fates' sets).

The first wave of Shining Fates products release on February 19th and range from £9.99 to £52.50.
